Biography
of Chris CandelarioChris Candelario was born in Santa Fe and grew up in Las Vegas, New Mexico. His father gave him a Spanish guitar at age 9, but only knew three chords and one arpeggio (p, i, m, a, m, i) to show his son.
Musically self-educated and with little formal guitar training, he has written over 60 original classical and flamenco songs. A major undertaking was to complete the companion music book the the "Eternal Light" CD with the 16 songs precisely noted the way they were recorded.
As a professional photo-journalist, Candelario always traveled with an acoustic guitar or purchased one wherever his work would take him. From childhood he continued to practice and compose music - especially his unique style of arpeggios.
Candelario is currently recording 3 more CDs, a guitar concert, and 5 photography books. He has also written 12 screen plays and 2 novels: Pinon 7 and The Naranjo Saga.
Currently, Candelario volunteers at the Veterans Hospital in New Mexico to play receptions, concerts, and gives music therapy and his CDs to Disabled American Veterans.
Chris dedicates his first CD, Luz Eterna, to his father, John S. Candelario.
